The Lighthouse Project is a
Targeted Community Grant from The American Cancer Society that underwrites
rotating Breast Cancer Awareness Campaigns, Health Education Campaigns, and the
recruitment of at-risk ladies for Free Mammograms. The Sherri Arnold Graham Foundation and The
American Cancer Society have built community collaborations with the E. Newton
Smith Health Department, the Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority, Rex Hospital
(Raleigh, NC), Cape Fear Valley Cancer
Center (Fayetteville, NC),
the Department of Mental Health, and the following four churches as Lighthouse
Partners:
The Lighthouse Project will rotate among the four churches on a quarterly basis; each church will host the project and target outreach in their respective communities for one quarter. Each quarterly rotation will consist of four educational sessions including breast health education, nutrition education, instruction for self-breast exams, and testimonies from survivors and ladies having received free mammograms through our previous outreach initiatives. The Lighthouse Project will cultivate genuine relationships in the heart of underserved communities thanks to The American Cancer Society. |
